About Kipling's Retreat Caravan Park Darwin
Kipling’s Retreat Caravan Park is a private park with one site at Hillier Road, Howard Springs. This will be your site for exclusive use during your stay.
Your caravan park is fenced and access is only possible through the secure gate.
Once on site, you will have the core amenities you’d expect, namely:
- Powered site
- Wifi
- Basic bathroom
- Washing machine
- Water
- Privacy
For supplies, Howard Springs has it’s own supermarket and pharmacy and two minutes further on you’re in Coolinga which has a mall with Coles, Woolworths, hairdressers, and anything else you might need.
And across the highway in Palmerston, you have access to all that, plus restaurants and takeaway outlets. We love a drink up here in the balmy weather, so it goes without saying you’ll find a good pub or bottle shop for beer, wine, and spirits.
If your 4WD or vehicle needs some attention, Howard Springs Tyres & Mechanical is just one of the service providers in the area.
And, of course, you’re on the outskirts of Greater Darwin, so you have access to all the other services you might need and expect from an urban centre.

Bathroom / laundry
Yes, you're staying at Kipling's Retreat to get away from the world, but nothing beats having a basic bathroom and laundry while you're camping. Our amenities block has a toilet, shower, and washing machine, just to make life on the road that little more comfortable.
Our resident donkey
Our resident donkey, Virgil, is quite friendly, and will enjoy a little bit of company during your stay. He is quite partial to carrots and apples but is also content to work his way through the on-site vegetation.
Our miniature goats
Kipling's Retreat is also home to two, rather snobby miniature goats. They will be curious about your presence and will be most easily satisfied by the occasional spare bit of salad or a piece of bread.
